NEEDLE (Arts Council Funded Project Announcement)

I’m absolutely over the moon to share that my Developing Your Creative Practice proposal, ‘NEEDLE’, has been awarded funding by the Arts Council. 

Heavily inspired by  my maternal grandmother, a self-employed seamstress who paved a way to support herself and her family through her mastery of the needle, my DYCP will explore how my writing practice can be inspired and evolved through experimenting with textile art and soundscapes.

With support from my incredible mentors Saziso Phiri and Rachel Carter, I’ll be learning the same sewing techniques my grandmother once used, exploring how poetry can be translated into textile art mediums, and capturing the stories, sounds and musings that emerge throughout the process.
